Nick Apivor: Teaching Bio
I received my Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Victoria in 1986, and have been performing and teaching since that time.   My degree was focused on performance, education, and composition.

I have taught privately and at many workshops, including the first ever Salsa Music Workshop at the University of the Philippines in 1995.

In 2005 and 2006 I taught at Trinity Western University in Langley.  This position involved teaching private percussion students as well as percussion ensemble and a percussion techniques class for non-percussion music majors.   I was also responsible for grading students yearly progress and preparing them for performance juries.

I have also taught at Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music and at Douglas College; teaching private lessons, percussion ensemble, hand drumming classes, and an adult community drumming class.

My Batucada:Brazilian Drumming class has been taught to students ranging from grade 4 to adults, and from university level music students to non-musicians.
